Back on Crutches?

October 30th, 2007 · Posted by Who Knows? · 4 Comments

I visited the physio today. It seems I have been naughty (aka I’m human) by not sticking to both crutches. So I’m back on both, in order to avoid hurting this ankle of mine. X-Ray tomorrow, to check for another kind of injury (seeing as this is the third time). “Bad news” would have me “out of action” for six weeks rather than three, or something, and walking around in a “moon boot”. Say, I always did want to go to the moon.

Sometimes people need crutches to avoid hurting themselves further.

Good news: the x-rays indicate I do not have a syndesmosis injury, which means recovery should be quicker (than it otherwise would have been).

Maybe in three weeks, I’ll be on the bike, if not on the trail yet.

My physio tells me it isn’t a very good idea to take part in the Totalsports Challenge on 12 Jan. If I decide to do it, he will try to help, but it is too little time, I will be inadequately prepared…

What to do, what to do… :-(

Start training for jailbreak instead – no pressure on ankle, and it gets ‘iced’ for you… ;)

I’m allowed to start cycling, but not yet allowed to start swimming. Maybe I can train for the Argus, some adventure races, and for the Berg River Canoe Marathon… absurdly crazy stuff like jailbreak, I’ll leave to you. ;)

12 January will be a sad day, if I don’t take part in Totalsports Challenge.
