Recently, I realised the right sidebar is getting too long, and I should go to a three-column layout. At least if I figure out an image to place at the top, it won't look exactly the same as all the rest... Now what image to use... ponder... I have a most likely candidate, and I have a shortlist (generated from the 45 most popular themes, with strong bias for the last 15, as they were more recently added and not pruned aggressively yet). I decided I probably want something simple, with two columns and side-bar on the right, preferably light in colour, with comment links below posts.
